By providing coaching support as part of the resolution process, we can best support parties before, during and after the mediation.

PROCESS

NorthStar Workplace Solutions provides experienced nationally accredited workplace mediators who are passionate to facilitate discussions between two or more employees. We provide conflict coaching support to build, maintain and restore relationships in the workplace.

Understanding the Conflict

We begin with a scoping session to better understand the issues and impact on the workplace relationship from a HR / Manager perspective.

We can determine what / if any interventions have been adopted to manage the situation and manage their expectations. This session also outlines the process in further detail including discussions around logistics for the mediation to commence immediately.

Individual Intake Sessions

Our one-on-one intake session with each participant is the first step in outlining the process clearly, answering any questions, understanding the issues that have arisen from an individual perspective, and also coaching them on how to best participate and prepare for the joint session. These are often completed via Teams or Zoom prior to the joint session.

Joint Session & Finalising Agreements

Once the intakes are complete, the mediator will determine whether proceeding to a joint session is appropriate. Participation at the joint session will enable both parties to better understand each other by discussing the issues raised, propose solutions on how to move forward and determine whether there is agreement to enable a better working relationship in the future. The mediator will draft the mediation agreement on the day and obtain both parties' signature to show their commitment. This is a non-binding document that is provided to the Manager / HR to encourage follow up conversations to support their working relationship.
